New PS/2 ATX flagship presented: High-end Industrial PC Power Supply with 80PLUS® Platinum for latest mainboard generations

The Industrial PC Power Supply BEA-550K is the new flagship of worldwide used BEA power supply series from Bicker Elektronik, Donauwoerth/Germany. The highly efficient and very robust 500 Watt IPC power supply impresses with uncompromising quality and longevity. The BEA-550K is ideally suited for use in harsh industrial environments with an extended temperature range of -10°C to +70°C. The energy-saving power supply topology complies with 80PLUS® Platinum specification and achieves a high efficiency of more than 92%. All ATX outputs of the BEA-550K (+3.3V, +5V, +12V, +12V, -12V and +5Vsb) do not require a minimum load, so latest generation mainboards with special power-saving modes (Intel® Haswell, Skylake or Kaby Lake processors) can be supplied safely. The BEA-550K is used wherever high-performance ATX computer systems need to operate reliably in 24/7 continuous operation for many years, even under increased disruptive conditions – thus contributing significantly to safe operation of systems and machines. The BEA-550K complies with standards for increased immunity to interference for industrial areas EN61000-6-2 and for interference emission for industrial areas EN61000-6-4.

The exceptionally high quality of the BEA-550K is based on consistent use of high-quality components and the continuous development of the power supply design in terms of energy efficiency and resistance. For example, Japanese brand capacitors of +105°C rating improve durability of the power supply – even at high operating temperatures. Mechanically, the FR4 board material used has a considerably high dimensional stability. The through-hole plating of the printed circuit board ensures long-lasting and stable solder joints (shock and vibration IEC60068-2-64). A safety bracket secures the AC power cord plug into the power supply input jack, preventing it from being pulled out accidentally. The matching 3-pin AC power cable X1-132 with IEC connector is available as an optional accessory.

The new BEA-550K switching power supply for worldwide use has a wide-range input 90 to 264 VAC (47 – 63 Hz) with active power factor correction (PFC) and is certified to IEC / EN / UL 60950-1 and CCC. Due to the very good electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) the BEA-550K fulfills the stricter class B of EN55032. The intricate arrangement of power components and optimized thermal airflow management ensure the very efficient and safe operation of the PS/2 ATX power supply. The double-ball bearing brand fan is particularly quiet and additionally equipped with a tacho signal monitoring, which ensures the correct fan operation at any time. At the precisely regulated outputs, integrated short-circuit, overcurrent and overvoltage protection functions ensure additional operational safety. In addition to a long-term availability of at least 5 years, Bicker Elektronik grants a three year warranty on the BEA-550K.
