VISIT Yard Management: Digital truck handling reimagined

Hall East Entrance, Stand ES42

At LogiMAT 2026, ASTRUM IT will present VISIT, an intelligent platform solution for managing external personnel. In addition to visitor and external company management, the yard management area is a central component – completely digital, secure, and flexibly expandable. Companies can use it to efficiently control their delivery traffic throughout the entire process – from pre-registration to departure.

Optional: Advance notification of delivery traffic

The delivery process can be prepared in a structured manner even before arrival. Advance notification is either entered manually by VISIT users via a web interface—for example, in environments without an ERP connection—or fully automated via a REST API directly from ERP systems such as SAP or Microsoft Dynamics. VISIT adapts to existing system landscapes and remains scalable at all times.

Arrival of the truck

Upon arrival at the parking lot or factory premises, drivers check in at the reception desk or at a self-service kiosk. Optionally, ID cards or QR codes can be issued. Depending on security requirements, additional steps can be integrated, such as digital safety training, identity verification (e.g., ID card, passport, or driver’s license), or automated sanctions list checks.

A special highlight is the live translation feature with Ivy AI from Schneider Intercom: If a driver does not speak German or needs assistance with registration—for example, with questions about the order number—the control center can provide support via intercom, assist in multiple languages, and complete the registration process. Optionally, VISIT automatically recognizes the license plate as soon as the truck enters the parking lot

Optional: Call for entry

The call to continue the journey is made flexibly via display boards, pagers, or text messages. As soon as the truck is cleared, the entrance is opened automatically.

Entry to the plant

Access to the plant premises is granted via license plate recognition, QR code, or RFID badge. Access terminals with integrated intercom systems from Schneider Intercom enable secure checking and verification – both at entrances and exits.

After scanning the QR code, the display shows the assigned loading point directly. Optionally, the driver can first be directed to a waiting area or weighed before proceeding to the goods entrance or exit or to the loading ramp.

Confirmation and dispatch

During dispatch, optional measures for documenting load securing can be implemented, for example through photo uploads or digital checklists. Once completed, the ramp is released and the exit is activated. An optional exit weighing system can also be integrated.

Exit

Exit is again automated – via license plate recognition, QR code, or RFID badge, which is returned in a swallowing reader if necessary.

New trade fair highlight: Logistics overview in VISIT

Parallel to the physical process, VISIT offers a new, completely revised logistics overview. It shows which trucks have already arrived, which have been called up, and which have been acknowledged. Time slots are displayed as soon as the integrated time slot management is active.

The interface has been fundamentally modernized, usability improved, and optimized for tablets. Further automation is planned for the future: Pre-registered trucks will be automatically recognized upon arrival and directly assigned to the next available ramp.

Parallel: Integrated timeslot management

Timeslot management complements the yard process with forward-looking planning. Freight forwarders book their timeslots independently after being authorized by the user company. All relevant information can be stored either in advance or upon arrival.

The result: better capacity utilization, less queuing, shorter handling times, and significantly higher throughput. At the same time, on-site registration time is reduced because information has already been recorded in advance – for significantly better planning on all sides.

Modular, development-oriented, and customer-focused

VISIT is undergoing continuous expansion. Many functions are currently being further developed—new customers can actively influence how processes and functions will be designed in the future. The modular platform concept ensures that companies use exactly the building blocks they need—today and in the future.

VISIT—one platform. All processes. Secure and digital.
