Allied Vision’s Alecs VSWIR Smart Camera receives inspect award 2026

Allied Vision’s Alecs VSWIR smart camera was honored with the inspect award 2026 in the “Artificial Intelligence” category at VISION Stuttgart. The award ceremony took place on Tuesday, October 6, at the Wiley-VCH GmbH booth in Hall 10, Booth A02. The trophy was personally presented by David Löh, editor-in-chief of the trade journals inspect and PhotonicsViews. Thanh Luu, Business Development Manager at Allied Vision, accepted the award for third place on behalf of the company.

Award for Innovative Image Processing

Each year, the editorial team of the inspect magazine presents the inspect award to recognize innovative products and solutions in the fields of industrial image processing and optical metrology. The award thus underscores the technological innovation of the Alecs VSWIR and their practical added value for industrial image processing applications.

The winners of the inspect award were selected through a two-stage selection process. First, an independent panel of experts nominated outstanding products and solutions. Readers and users then had the opportunity to vote for their favorites in an online poll. In the “Artificial Intelligence” category, Alecs VSWIR ranked 3rd out of a total of ten nominated products.

“We are very pleased to receive this award. It confirms that our combination of SWIR imaging, edge processing, and an open smart camera platform delivers tangible added value for industrial machine vision applications,” says Thanh Luu, Business Development Manager at Allied Vision.

Alecs VSWIR Smart Camera Brings Edge AI to Infrared Inspection

With the release of Alecs VSWIR, the smart camera is available with Sony’s SenSWIR Sensor technology with a spectral range of 400 – 1700 nm. By integrating Sony’s full SenSWIR sensor family with NVIDIA Jetson Orin processing in a rugged IP67 housing, Allied Vision delivers edge-based VSWIR intelligence in a single industrial device for the first time.

The Alecs VSWIR Smart Camera eliminates system complexity and removes the traditional need for a separate VSWIR camera and an external industrial PC with a costly GPU. The smart VSWIR camera is built to meet demanding requirements for space constraints, ruggedness, real-time decision-making, and reliable VSWIR performance across variable lighting and environmental conditions.

Together with the cameras Allied Vision is offering a comprehensive set of compatible accessories, such as Allied Vision SWIR C-Mount lenses, a lens tube with an advanced coating for improved transmission of the entire wavelength range of IMX99X sensors, I/O and power cables. Moreover, Alecs includes a 30-day trial license for all eVision Libraries, including deep learning functionality. Customers can test and design their application for free in eVision Studio. They can then copy the code into Alecs and run the application free of charge for one month before purchasing only the specific eVision library licences they need.
