Reliable safety sensors for modern intralogistics

Hall 8 / Stand 8A24

From 24 to 26 March 2026, TWK will be welcoming visitors to booth 8A24 at LogiMAT in Stuttgart. The company will be showcasing its customized, reliable solutions for intralogistics automation, particularly for use with automated guided vehicles (AGVs).

AGVs are now a key component of efficient material flows. To ensure they operate reliably and safely, they require precise sensor technology that can withstand even the most demanding conditions. TWK offers robust, certified rotary encoders with a compact design for this purpose. They meet the highest safety requirements such as SIL2/SIL3 and PLd/PLe in accordance with IEC 61508 and ISO 13849 1. The portfolio also includes explosion-proof devices (ATEX/IECEx), UL®-certified sensors, and ASIL D-compliant products in accordance with ISO 26262.

A special highlight at the trade fair is the Safety Ring Encoder: it combines two central functions in one device. On the one hand, it provides highly dynamic position and speed detection via BISS-C, SSI, SIN/COS, and other interfaces for motor feedback control. On the other hand, it enables additional functionally safe data transmission via PROFIsafe, FSoE, or CANopen Safety. Thanks to its inductive measuring principle, inner diameters from 25 to 200 mm, and high interference resistance, it can be flexibly integrated into different drive variants – as a housing or circuit board version. The resolution is 22 bits at speeds of up to 30,000 rpm.

TWK also presents the compact Safety Kit Encoder with external magnet. Its shaftless design and housing depth of only 20 mm make it ideal for tight installation spaces and retrofitting existing drives. The position magnet is mounted directly on the application side and operates contactlessly with respect to the sensor housing. With a resolution of 16 bits/360°, up to 32,768 revolutions can be recorded electronically. A parameterizable speed signal also allows precise determination of rotational speeds.

Both sensor highlights comply with SIL2/PLd and, thanks to their robust design, high shock and vibration resistance, and uncomplicated integration, are ideal components for safety-critical applications in logistics.

These highlights are complemented by a compact, cost-efficient cable pull sensor with integrated SIL2 encoder, which reliably transmits cable position and speed via CANopen Safety. It offers measuring ranges of up to 8 meters with 16-bit resolution.

In addition, there are proven magnetic encoders with a compact design of 38 and 42 mm and a resolution of up to 16 bits.

Also included is a SIL2/PLd-certified, dynamic 3-axis inclination sensor with gyroscope and Kalman filter, which delivers precise inclination values via CANopen Safety or SAE J1939. It also outputs safe rotation rates and accelerations and can be flexibly adapted to the application using filter parameters.

Finally, there is the SIL3/PLe-certified incremental encoder with solid or continuous hollow shaft, which can generate up to 2500 SIN/COS or square-wave pulses per revolution for safe motor feedback systems.

TWK’s comprehensive safety portfolio offers interfaces such as CANopen Safety, PROFIsafe, or Failsafe over EtherCAT and combines maximum reliability with economic efficiency. Visit us from March 24 to 26, 2026, at booth 8A24 and receive individual advice on your application.
