Omnitron Griese sharpens its strategic focus and completes company succession with a new management duo

Since the beginning of the year, Adrian Griese has been managing the business of battery developer and manufacturer Omnitron Griese GmbH together with Dr Frank Diehl. To kick off their joint operational activities, the new management duo held an offsite strategy workshop in a former monastery in the Rheingau region in February 2026. The aim is leading the traditional values of the family business well-positioned into the future and harmonising the company’s development accordingly.

Omnitron has grown continuously over the past ten years,’ says Adrian Griese, who has served as managing partner alongside his father since 2015. ‘We have doubled our workforce, created two new production sites and developed a variety of customer-specific solutions for mobile power supply.’ Following the retirement of company founder Reinhardt Griese from active management at the end of 2025, Adrian Griese now intends to continue on this growth path with the support of Dr Frank Diehl.

‘Omnitron sets itself apart with its tremendous competence in the field of mobile energy, based on half a century of experience in the development of battery packs,’ says Dr Frank Diehl. ‘We provide a very strong European production chain and are developing additions through Asian partners with a view to the future. I am very excited about the prospect of tapping into new European markets and fields of application with these opportunities.’

In keeping with the spirit of a family business, it was important to Adrian Griese and his co-shareholders, especially to his sister Judica Cimander, in their search, that his new partner also fits in well with Omnitron on a personal level. ‘With Frank Diehl, we have gained not only his extraordinary cell and development expertise for complex applications,’ says Adrian Griese. ‘‘I also have someone at my side who – when necessary – can roll up his sleeves and get things done in a practical way, and above all, someone who values people, whether they are employees or customers, and puts them at the centre of everything we do.’

Reinhardt Griese also placed equal emphasis on personal qualities and professional qualifications when searching for his successor. ‘Frank Diehl is the perfect complement to my son Adrian,’ says Reinhardt Griese. ‘I am certain that I have placed my life’s work and its continuation in the four right hands.’

Reinhardt Griese has passed on the appropriate compass to the next generation. ‘The defining motto of my predecessor was ‘north and straight ahead’. I wouldn’t be able to describe the Omnitron corporate culture any better,‘ says Dr Frank Diehl. ‘It is important to me to continue to live these values. Open, honest interaction with people, teamwork among colleagues and close cooperation with customers lead to close ties and long-standing partnerships. Combined with our expertise in battery technology, this is precisely what distinguishes Omnitron’s strength.‘
