Cable Glands and Accessories for Every Area of Application

Wherever cables or lines are run through an enclosure wall, strain relief and sealing are required. Ganter now offers the right cable glands and accessories in three thread types.

Cable glands are proven standardized parts that are now available from Ganter in many different sizes and with various types of thread. The standard parts with part number GN 62444 are indispensable in mechanical engineering and plant construction and are used anywhere that cables, hoses, or lines must be run through an enclosure or separating wall. Examples include switch cabinets, welding machines, battery storage systems, and e-charging stations, just to list a few. In all cases, these parts secure cables at the plane of entry to provide effective strain relief and sealing – in the cable glands from Ganter, this is achieved with a durable and reliable sealing and clamping insert made of chloroprene rubber.

Ganter offers cable glands with clamping diameters from 3 to 44 mm and three types of thread: metric types in the dimensions M12 to M63, PG 7 to PG 48, and – specially for the US market – inch-based NPT thread with tapered profile. While PG thread has long since been replaced by metric standard dimensions, PG thread connections remain indispensable for solving real problems in the repair, retrofitting, or modification of older systems. Ganter offers all three types in gray polyamide as well as in brass and (except for the NPT versions) in stainless steel for corrosive environments. For most applications, the plastic version is the first choice and offers the best cost-benefit ratio. In applications where rough conditions and higher loads are encountered, Ganter recommends the high-quality metal versions.

Naturally, the matching accessories can also be ordered from Ganter:

Thin mounting nuts GN 62444.1 of brass, plastic, or stainless steel secure the fittings when thin-walled enclosures or bulkhead panels permit only unthreaded through holes.

Threaded plugs GN 62444.2 of brass or plastic securely seal existing enclosure holes that are not currently needed.

Multiple sealing inserts GN 62444.3 of thermoplastic elastomer allow for up to eight individual cables to be run together through a standard cable gland, making them extremely efficient in terms of space, time, and cost.

Reducers GN 62444.4 enable the use of smaller cable glands, such as where standard enclosures holes are too large.
