Exide Technologies expands Solition Material Handling portfolio with new 24V lithium-ion battery for pallet truck operations

  • Opportunity charging capability supported by an integrated onboard charger
  • Plug & Play solution for easy retrofitting of existing 24V lead-acid applications
  • Designed and assembled in Europe

Exide Technologies (www.exidegroup.com) – Exide Technologies, a leading provider of innovative and sustainable battery storage solutions for automotive and industrial applications, has expanded its Solition Material Handling portfolio with a 24V lithium-ion battery for pallet truck applications. Designed as an alternative to conventional EPzV or EPzS batteries, the solution is suitable for use in retail, logistics and distribution environments.

Compatible with leading OEM pallet trucks, including models from Linde, Jungheinrich, Still, Crown and Logisnext, the new Solition Material Handling 24V battery features an integrated onboard charger that supports efficient opportunity charging during working shifts. This enables charging without battery changes or dedicated charging rooms, providing greater operational flexibility.

Key features of the Solition Material Handling 24V battery include:

  • Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) technology: Designed for safe and reliable operation with integrated safety features.
  • Maintenance-free operation: Energy-efficient technology that helps cut operating costs.
  • Long service life: Capable of more than 3,000 charge cycles under specified operating conditions.

Designed and assembled in Europe, the Solition Material Handling 24 V battery further expands Exide’s portfolio of battery solutions for material handling applications. Developed for straightforward integration into existing pallet truck fleets, it offers a Plug & Play solution for retrofitting 24 V lead-acid and lithium-ion applications. This supports a smooth transition to lithium-ion technology for customers seeking to modernize their operations while minimizing disruption.

"Many pallet truck operators are looking for practical ways to benefit from lithium-ion technology without having to replace their existing fleet," said Magnus Ohlsson, Senior Business Director Motion. "The Solition Material Handling 24V battery has been developed to support that transition, combining opportunity charging capability, maintenance-free operation and a long service life in a solution tailored to the needs of today’s retail, logistics and distribution environments."
