BPrelax: New App-Based Solution for Relaxation and Blood Pressure Management

GO Europe GmbH is presenting BPrelax for the first time at IFA 2026 in Berlin, an innovative medical device designed to support relaxation and blood pressure management. Approximately 1.4 billion people worldwide live with high blood pressure (WHO 2025). BPrelax is specifically designed for people with hypertension who wish to further support their blood pressure management through targeted breathing exercises.

Medical Expertise Meets High-Tech

BPrelax is based on approximately 15 years of clinical and scientific work by Prof. Dr. Thomas Mengden, a cardiologist specializing in hypertension and author of the book “Lowering Blood Pressure Through Yoga Breathing,” in collaboration with the Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT). Prof. Mengden and the AIT are joint patent holders; the development is protected by patents in Europe and North America.

The technology combines targeted breathing training with modern sensor and digital technology—without a blood pressure cuff. A handheld, joystick-like device with integrated sensors connects via Bluetooth to a health app on a smartphone. During use, the user receives immediate feedback on the progress of the exercises and the effects achieved. Targeted breathing exercises are designed to help lower blood pressure and reduce stress. Chronic stress leads to high blood pressure and contributes to visceral abdominal fat, sleep disturbances, and persistent fatigue. Cravings and concentration problems are also directly linked to poor stress regulation.

Typical secondary or comorbid conditions associated with long-term high blood pressure—especially when left untreated or inadequately treated—include stroke, heart attack, coronary heart disease, and heart failure.

“Our goal was to translate scientifically sound findings from respiratory therapy and blood pressure management into an easy-to-use technical solution,” explains Prof. Dr. Thomas Mengden. “The collaboration with the AIT played a decisive role in bringing this approach to fruition technologically.”

Large International Market

GO Europe GmbH holds the exclusive global distribution rights and aims to serve the market for technology-based health applications with BPrelax.

“BPrelax combines a specific health need with modern, user-friendly technology,” says Christian Gerth, Managing Director of GO Europe GmbH. “With approximately 1.4 billion people worldwide suffering from hypertension, we see significant international market potential.”

As part of the exclusive distribution partnership, GO Europe will be responsible for establishing international distribution channels, supporting retail partners, and positioning BPrelax in the market.

Premiere at IFA 2026

From September 4 to 8, 2026, trade visitors and interested consumers will be able to learn about BPrelax for the first time at IFA in Berlin and experience the technology at the GO Europe booth in the Start-up Hall.

With this IFA debut, GO Europe is launching the international market expansion of BPrelax—with the goal of making medical expertise, scientific development, and modern sensor technology available for contemporary blood pressure management in everyday life.
