DÜRR NDT Improves Mounting and Protection System of Its Bendable Digital X-ray Detectors

DÜRR NDT introduces a newly developed mounting and protective solution for its bendable digital X-ray detectors, the D-DR 1025B NDT and D-DR 1043B NDT. Designed specifically for demanding industrial inspection environments, the new covers significantly improve detector handling and mounting versatility. At the same time, they provide enhanced protection without compromising the flexibility and image quality that have made DÜRR NDT’s bendable detectors a preferred solution for non-destructive testing (NDT) professionals worldwide.

A key feature of the new design is the integration of versatile mounting options. Depending on the inspection scenario, the detectors can be securely attached to the test object using magnets, tension straps, or rubber fasteners. This allows inspectors to position the detector quickly and reliably, even during challenging tasks and in hard-to-reach areas.

The covers have been engineered to maintain the detector's lightweight design, portability, and full bending capability, ensuring simple and ergonomic handling in the field. Users continue to benefit from the unique ability of the D-DR 1025B NDT and D-DR 1043B NDT to conform to curved surfaces while delivering outstanding digital radiographic image quality.

With a 99 µm pixel pitch and a maximum basic spatial resolution (SRb) of 100 µm, the D-DR 1025B NDT and D-DR 1043B NDT deliver the image quality required for demanding weld inspections on pipes and curved objects. The two models differ in their active areas, which measure 97 × 249 mm and 97 × 427 mm, respectively.

To further support customers operating in harsh industrial environments, DÜRR NDT has also placed a strong emphasis on durability when developing this new generation of protective covers. Manufactured from highly resistant Cordura® fabric, the covers provide excellent protection against mechanical stress, abrasion, dirt, and the typical impacts of daily field use. The new design protects the detector surface during operation, thereby reducing wear and extending its service life.

Like all DÜRR NDT digital X-ray systems, the D-DR 1025B NDT and D-DR 1043B NDT detectors are operated with the proven X-ray inspection software D-Tect X, whose intelligent and powerful tools enable fast and precise image analysis.

The introduction of these new mounting and protective covers reflects DÜRR NDT's ongoing commitment to innovation and customer-focused product development. By continuously enhancing detector technology, supporting accessories and software, DÜRR NDT enables inspection professionals to perform reliable and efficient digital radiography inspections in even the most demanding environments.
