<p>comemso electronics GmbH introduces Easy Chester Ultimate, a new generation of mobile test systems for EV charging infrastructure. The system combines functional testing of AC, DC CCS, and CHAdeMO charging stations with charging communication analysis and electrical safety testing on both the grid side and the vehicle-facing interface.</p>
<p>Easy Chester Ultimate brings together testing tasks that previously often required several test instruments, different operating concepts, and separate documentation processes.</p>
<p>An integrated 10.1-inch touchscreen guides users systematically through each test. Measurements, communication sequences, and test results are documented in a shared, configurable pdf test report.</p>
<p>Despite its expanded range of functions, Easy Chester Ultimate weighs only 15.7 kilograms, making it significantly lighter than its predecessor. The mobile system was developed for commissioning, maintenance, repair, and periodic inspection directly at the charging station.</p>

<p><b>Three Levels of Testing in One System</b></p>
<p>A charging station may communicate correctly while still presenting an electrical safety issue. It may be installed correctly but still fail to start or stop a charging session reliably. A sound assessment therefore requires functionality, communication, and electrical safety to be examined together.</p>
<p>Depending on its configuration, Easy Chester Ultimate supports:</p>
<ul class="bbcode_list">
<li>Functional testing of AC, DC CCS, and CHAdeMO charging stations</li>
<li>Testing of Control Pilot and Proximity Pilot</li>
<li>Testing of PLC communication, including SLAC</li>
<li>Analysis of digital charging communication according to DIN 70121, ISO 15118-2, and ISO 15118-3</li>
<li>Simulation of defined faults on CP, PP, and PE lines</li>
<li>Verification of the charging station’s response to insulation faults</li>
<li>Electrical safety testing on the grid side and vehicle-facing interface</li>
<li>Voltage and current measurements</li>
</ul>
<p>Depending on the test direction and system configuration, electrical safety testing includes protective conductor resistance, insulation resistance, residual voltage, residual current devices, insulation monitoring, and loop impedance.</p>
<p>The system therefore evaluates charging infrastructure from three perspectives: the grid side, the vehicle-facing interface, and the complete charging process.</p>
<p><b>Guided Testing and Clear Documentation</b></p>
<p>Easy Chester Ultimate guides users step by step through the selected test process. Status indicators, measurement values, and instructions clearly show which test is active and how its result has been assessed.</p>
<p>The test process follows four structured steps:</p>
<ol class="bbcode_list">
<li>Connect the system to the charging station (and the grid side).</li>
<li>Select the charging standard and test process.</li>
<li>Perform safety, functional, and communication tests.</li>
<li>Analyze deviations and document the results.</li>
</ol>
<p>The systematic user guidance supports repeatable testing and makes results easier to interpret. Measurements and test results are automatically transferred into configurable PDF reports. “Passed” or “Failed” assessments refer to the individual test steps that were performed.</p>
<p>Reports can be sent by email directly from the system. Wireless firmware updates, integrated device checks, and optional remote support further simplify field use.</p>
<p><b>For Commissioning, Service, and Periodic Inspection</b></p>
<p>Easy Chester Ultimate supports installation, service, and inspection teams throughout the charging station lifecycle. Typical applications include:</p>

<li>Functional checks following maintenance or repair</li>
<li>Diagnosis of charging and communication problems</li>

<p>By combining all three testing levels, the system helps users identify whether a deviation originates from the electrical installation, charging communication, protection functions, or general charging behavior.</p>
<p><b>International Charging Standards and Flexible Extensions</b></p>
<p>Depending on its configuration, Easy Chester Ultimate supports AC Type 1 and Type 2, CCS Combo 1 and CCS Combo 2, NACS according to SAE J3400, and CHAdeMO.</p>
<p>Supported standards and communication protocols include IEC 61851-1, DIN 70121, ISO 15118-2, and ISO 15118-3. The relevant interfaces are tested directly within the selected system configuration.</p>
<p>Optional extensions are available for additional applications. A Long Duration Unit enables longer charging cycles and the analysis of time-dependent faults. External DC loads allow for testing with higher charging power over a longer period of time.</p>
<p><b>Ten Years of Easy Chester</b></p>
<p>The Easy Chester product family has been on the market since 2016. Since then, it has supported manufacturers, operators, installers, testing organizations, and service technicians worldwide in testing and troubleshooting charging infrastructure.</p>
<p>Easy Chester Ultimate represents the next stage in this development. It combines a significantly expanded testing scope with lower weight, systematic user guidance, and integrated documentation.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class="pb-text">The <b>Czech Metrology Institute (CMI)</b> is now working with the <b>comemso Easy Chester Calimera</b> mobile calibration solution. The system has not only been selected, but has already been delivered, professionally integrated into CMI’s own service vehicle, and is actively in use.</p>
<p>By investing in the Easy Chester Calimera, CMI is strengthening its capabilities for mobile calibration of AC and DC charging stations directly in the field. As the national metrology authority of the Czech Republic, CMI plays a key role in ensuring measurement accuracy, compliance and trust in calibration- and metrology-related applications.</p>
<p>With the Calimera solution integrated into its service vehicle, CMI can verify charging stations directly where the energy actually flows: at the charging point itself. This supports precise and traceable verification of delivered energy and contributes to accurate billing, regulatory compliance and trust in public charging infrastructure.</p>
<p><b>From live demonstration to mobile calibration vehicle</b></p>
<p>The project was implemented in close cooperation between CMI and comemso. In December 2025, the comemso team visited CMI in Prague to demonstrate the Easy Chester Calimera using the comemso demo vehicle. During the visit, additional CMI experts and international partners had the opportunity to experience the system live in operation.</p>
<p>Following the demonstration, CMI provided its own service vehicle, into which comemso professionally integrated the Calimera solution. In February 2026, the fully equipped vehicle was handed over at comemso. The handover also included joint system training before CMI drove the vehicle back to Prague on the same day.</p>
<p>“This project clearly demonstrates the importance of practical and mobile calibration solutions for the further development of charging infrastructure,” says <b>Dipl.-Ing (FH) Anita Athanasas, Chief Commercial Officer (CCO)</b>. “We are very pleased that CMI is already actively using the Easy Chester Calimera and that our technology can contribute to reliable measurement technology in the field of e-mobility.”</p>
<p><b>Mobile calibration under real-world conditions</b></p>
<p>The <b>Easy Chester Calimera</b> is a mobile in-field calibration system for charging infrastructure. It enables precise and traceable measurements on AC and DC charging stations and is designed for use under real-world conditions. The system supports calibration-compliant testing processes in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 and is suitable for applications in the field of legal metrology.</p>
<p>Key features include a wide voltage and current range for modern high-power charging applications, high-precision energy measurement for AC and DC charging systems, automated workflows, and support for common charging standards such as CCS1, CCS2, CHAdeMO, NACS and AC Type 1 / Type 2.</p>
<p>For operators, testing organizations and authorities, the correct measurement of charged energy is becoming increasingly important. Only when charging stations measure accurately can end users trust that they are billed for exactly the amount of energy they actually receive.</p>
<p><b>A strong signal for the market</b></p>
<p>CMI’s active use of the Easy Chester Calimera underlines the growing demand for reliable, mobile and field-ready calibration solutions for charging infrastructure. The <a href="https://comemso.com/ev-charging-tester-2/" class="bbcode_url" target="_blank" rel="noopener nofollow" data-wpel-link="external">comemso EVCA</a> (Electric Vehicle Communication Analyzer/Simulator) has officially been recognized by CharIN e.V. as a validated Conformance Test System for DC EVSE (Charging System Basic + Extended) within the CharIN Conformance Testing System (CCTS) program.</p>
<p>With CCTS validation, CharIN confirms that the <a href="https://comemso.com/ev-charging-tester-2/" class="bbcode_url" target="_blank" rel="noopener nofollow" data-wpel-link="external">comemso EVCA</a> provides reliable, reproducible and comparable test results, regardless of the laboratory configuration. This makes an important contribution to ensuring interoperability and quality within the global CharIN ecosystem.</p>
<p>Validation includes verifying system performance and ensuring the correct implementation of relevant test cases, in accordance with the scope defined by CharIN. Supported standards include key norms such as IEC 61851-1, IEC 61851-23 and DIN 70121, as well as ISO 15118-2 and ISO 15118-3. What began as a compact solution for mobile use has established itself worldwide as a reference for standard-compliant testing. Now comemso, technology leader in the field of charging infrastructure testing, is introducing the next generation: the Easy Chester Gen. 2.</p>
<p>The Easy Chester is a mobile functional test device for AC and DC charging stations that fully simulates the communication of an electric vehicle &#8211; without the need for a real vehicle. It supports all relevant communication protocols: DIN 70121, ISO 15118, IEC 61851-1 for CCS and NACS charging standards as well as CHAdeMO up to and including version 2.0.</p>
<p>Typical application scenarios range from initial commissioning and recurring tests as part of quality assurance to maintenance, troubleshooting and technical support or the repair of charging stations. With the Easy Chester, the function, communication and safety behavior of a charging station can be tested easily and safely &#8211; wherever it matters.</p>
<p>With the new Easy Chester Gen. 2, comemso now presents a more powerful, even more flexible system with numerous extensions:</p>

<li>A revised, more intuitive user interface ensures even easier operation.</li>
<li>In addition to 400 V systems, 800 V charging systems can now also be tested &#8211; a crucial step for testing modern high-power chargers.</li>
<li>The Pro version allows DC load simulation with up to 60 kW.</li>
<li>Proven features are retained: extensive long-term tests and targeted fault simulations &#8211; e.g. communication faults or insulation faults (AC/DC).</li>
<li>With the optional comISO module (available from Q4/2025), additional VDE-compliant tests can also be carried out.</li>

<p>Three equipment variants &#8211; Basic, Extended and Pro &#8211; and a modular hardware architecture with interchangeable electronic cassettes enable flexible adaptation to a wide range of requirements. Thanks to software upgrades, functions can be specifically expanded. Intelligent features such as automatic detection of the connected plug type and connected DC loads as well as the new, improved PDF report function complete the system.</p>
