Lauterbach’s industry leading debug- and profiling toolsuite TRACE32 is now part of the NXP CoreRide Z248 zonal reference system, the semiconductor industry’s first pre-validated, design-ready zonal foundation that combines advanced 48-V energy distribution, deterministic data handling, functional safety, and real-time responsiveness.

The NXP CoreRide Z248 system provides a hardware–software foundation, which is built to boost overall system performance, cut integration effort, and shorten development cycles, enabling auto OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers to concentrate on moving faster from zonal architecture concepts to production-ready solutions and freeing them from complex integration processes on the path to production.

Built on NXP’s S32K5 microcontroller series, the Z248 zonal reference system is delivered with a complete Board Support Package with pre-integrated software from the NXP CoreRide partner ecosystem. In addition to Lauterbach’s TRACE32® debugging and profiling software PowerView, it includes GLIWA‘s T1 performance monitoring suite, Green Hills’ software compiler, and Vector‘s embedded software and tools.

Lauterbach’s TRACE32® supports the entire Product Life Cycle (PLC) from Pre-Silicon to Prototyping & Testing to In-Field analysis including cloud-based debugging and profiling. It provides the broadest support for emulators, simulators and virtual targets in the industry as well as debugging of all the heterogeneous Arm® and RISC-V cores implemented in NXP’s S32K5 family. A supplementary trace analysis including code coverage measurements can support bringing automotive designs to market faster, safer, and more reliably than ever.

TRACE32® enables simultaneous debugging and tracing of the Arm® cores in S32K5 platform and RISC-V cores in S32K5 accelerators; a unique capability to cover the whole system. It does not matter whether the system is SMP (Symetric Multiprocessing), AMP (Asymetric Multiprocessing), or iAMP (Integrated Asymmetrical Multiprocessing). Lauterbach’s innovative iAMP debug and trace technology enables to debug multicore systems with identical CPU instruction sets in just one TRACE32® PowerView GUI.

“With TRACE32, NXP has expanded its CoreRide Z248 reference system to include the leading debug and profiling solution on the market,” says Alexandre Schaefer, Sales Director at Lauterbach GmbH. “The pre-integrated and pre-validated hardware/software stack will further accelerate time-to-market of SDV E/E architectures.”

“Lauterbach’s TRACE32 tools bring deep, system‑level observability and debuggability that is critical for developing and validating software‑defined vehicle architectures,” said Julien Battiston, General Manager of SDV and CoreRide platforms for NXP Semiconductors. “By integrating TRACE32 into the NXP CoreRide Z248 zonal reference system, we are expanding our pre‑validated ecosystem to help customers reduce integration complexity, accelerate debug and validation, and move more efficiently from zonal architecture concepts to production‑ready SDV platforms.”

The complete package undergoes extensive validation to help ensure optimized performance, while continuously improving processing efficiency and power consumption based on the primary use cases of a zonal ECU. It can be easily adapted to different variants of SDV E/E architectures and deployed across ICE, hybrid, and BEV platforms, supporting the industry’s transition toward zonal processing and ECU consolidation.

The NXP CoreRide Z248 zonal reference system including Lauterbach’s TRACE32® is now available to selected customers, backed by comprehensive system documentation, including a system safety manual, validated KPIs, and software integration guidance to accelerate adoption in upcoming vehicle programs.

Lauterbach, leading provider of debugging and profiling solutions for embedded systems, has further expanded its industry-leading support for AUTOSAR operating systems: From now NeuSAR from Neusoft Reach is also supported.

AUTOSAR-based, safety-critical systems require advanced analysis techniques to verify functional safety. For many years, Lauterbach’s TRACE32® debugging and trace tools have not only provided deep insights into such systems but also offered advanced solutions for timing analysis.

TRACE32® now enables the analysis of both the AUTOSAR Classic operating system NeuSAR cCore and the AUTOSAR Adaptive Platform operating system NeuSAR aCore, as well as the applications running on them. This unique feature is realized by adding a menu extension to Lauterbach’s TRACE32® PowerView software that gives developers access to NeuSAR operating system resources such as tasks, alarms, stack coverage, and much more. When multiple operating system instances are running on multicore SoCs, TRACE32® also supports their simultaneous debugging. This includes hypervisor debugging of virtualized systems.

“The NeuSAR platform overcomes the technical challenges associated with large-scale applications under heavy load and enables seamless operation of controllers across chip and domain boundaries,” explains Linglin He, General Manager of Lauterbach’s Chinese branch. “With full support from TRACE32, engineers can develop their applications from the ground up using our market-leading debugging and trace solutions.”

“Lauterbach has long been recognized as a leading solution for debugging and trace analysis in complex embedded systems,” says Qiang Du, President and CTO from Neusoft Reach. “Neusoft Reach is committed to building a unified and scalable software foundation for intelligent vehicles with NeuSAR. Through the integration of NeuSAR with TRACE32®, developers gain enhanced system visibility and improved efficiency in developing and validating safety-critical applications, accelerating the evolution of intelligent vehicles in the AI era.”

For the first time, this solution will be showcased at Auto China 2026, the international auto exhibition in Beijing, at the Neusoft Reach booth, running on both NXP’s S32 platform including the NXP CoreRide Z248 Zonal Reference System and Infineon’s TC4 platform.

Based on the motto “Enabling an AI-Driven & Software-Defined World” Lauterbach will present its latest TRACE32® debug and trace solutions for embedded systems in this year’s embedded world Exhibition & Conference in Nuremberg. Together with leading technology partners, Lauterbach will showcase practical solutions that enable developers to implement their systems faster, more securely, and more efficiently.

Visitors to the Lauterbach booth 4-210 will experience live demos on current topics such as software-defined vehicles, safety and security, and powerful debug and trace workflows throughout the entire development cycle. Through close collaboration with leading industry partners along the entire embedded value chain, customers receive integrated solutions tailored to their requirements – from early development phases to the certification of safety-critical applications.

From Cloud to Edge – Cover the Entire Product Life Cycle – Together with NXP® Semiconductors, Lauterbach demonstrates the debugging of virtual targets in the cloud as well as real chips with seamless transition from one development phase to the next. Our Product Life Cycle solutions include virtual targets provided by Synopsys Virtualizer and Corellium® Virtual Hardware.

Together with NXP® Semiconductors, Synopsys and Corellium, Lauterbach demonstrates the debugging of virtual targets in the cloud as well as real chips with seamless transition from one development phase to the next. Our Product Life Cycle solutions include virtual targets provided by Synopsys Virtualizer and Corellium® Virtual Hardware.

“We worked closely with Lauterbach to deliver a debugging experience that spans virtual targets in the cloud and real silicon,” said Norbert Huemmer, VP R&D at NXP Semiconductors. “This unified workflow enables developers to move smoothly from early development through to production. We are excited to demonstrate this at embedded world in Nuremberg, giving customers a first-hand look at the complete development lifecycle.”

“Our close collaboration with Lauterbach has delivered a seamless debug solution for our customers and partners running in the cloud and on-site,” stated Hal Conklin, VP of Sales at Corellium. “We have multiple auto OEMs and tier ones using our combined solution on a daily basis to drive interactive and CICD debug operations.”

Shorten Time-to-Market for the Software-Defined Vehicle – We demonstrate how our “SDV Ready” TRACE32® tools enable software isolation with hypervisors and development with AUTOSAR applications and automotive-centric operating systems in virtualized SDV environments. Furthermore, together with Vector, a solution for remote debugging via Vector’s cloud solution (vHaaS) will be presented.

“Building on our long-standing partnership with Lauterbach, we combine Vector’s Software Factory with industry-leading debugging expertise to drive the development of software defined systems,” says Dr. Marcus Eggenberger, Vice President, Software Factory at Vector, “vHaaS, as an essential part of our Software Factory, makes hardware resources accessible from anywhere in the world and integrates it seamlessly into CI environments. The combined solution enhances the scope of these benefits with Lauterbach’s debug and analysis capabilities”

"Virtualized SDV environments are key to accelerating development cycles, " comments Adam Lackorzynski, CEO at Kernkonzept. "With the L4Re Hypervisor and the L4Re Micro Hypervisor, developers can build and validate these environments efficiently and with confidence. We’re proud to collaborate with Lauterbach to strengthen this ecosystem with TRACE32."

Drive Embedded Innovations with RISC‑V – Lauterbach’s TRACE32® software, together with HighTec’s compiler and Synopsys’ VDK, is part of Infineon’s new DRIVECORE RISC V Virtual Prototype software bundle, which represents a key milestone in preparing the automotive ecosystem for Infineon’s upcoming AURIX microcontroller family based on RISC-V. We will demonstrate debugging and profiling of Infineon’s RISC V Virtual Prototype in numerous variants.

“In the era of software-defined vehicles, rapid software migration, fast development cycles and simple licensing is more important than ever,” said Thomas Schneid, Head of Software, Partner and Ecosystem Management in Infineon’s Automotive Division. “By adding our RISC V Virtual Prototype to our DRIVECORE portfolio, we ease and prepare a smooth transition for our customers towards RISC-V-based microcontrollers.”

Safety in a Software-Defined World – Using HighTec’s Rust compiler and AdaCore’s Ada compiler, Lauterbach will demonstrate debugging of mixed C/Rust and C/Ada applications as well as code coverage measurements for functional safety certifications.

“Our latest demonstration showcases how to achieve a hardware-based coverage measurement for a hybrid Rust and C AUTOSAR development.”, says Mario Cupelli, CTO at HighTec EDV-Systeme GmbH. “By using a single LLVM-based toolchain for Rust and C from HighTec and Lauterbach TRACE32 PowerTrace, we enable seamless code coverage measurement and analysis across both languages—a crucial step toward functional safety certification in next-generation software-defined vehicles.”

"Embedded developers face some of the most difficult verification challenges of the entire software industry," said Quentin Ochem, Chief Product Officer at AdaCore. “By partnering with Lauterbach, we’re jointly delivering a comprehensive development environment, from software correctness to cycle-accurate execution evidence and hardware debug capabilities.”

MathWorks Polyspace and TRACE32® – At booth 4-110 MathWorks will showcase the integration of TRACE32® with Polyspace, a powerful solution for software testing and code analysis.

“Embedded software teams need to validate their code on the same hardware they use in production, but friction across diverse toolchains, boards and debuggers can slow that process down," said Jay Abraham, Group Manager, Technical Marketing & Product Management at MathWorks. "With the Polyspace Test integration for Lauterbach TRACE32, developers can execute tests and capture coverage directly on real hardware, then transition seamlessly into hardware debugging to diagnose issues faster. With this integration, we’re helping engineers focus more on improving code quality and less on managing connectivity and configuration by streamlining on‑target testing, coverage collection and, debugging.”

At booth 4-210, Lauterbach experts look forward to welcoming you in person and discussing current challenges and solutions in embedded development.

Lauterbach, the world’s leading provider of debug solutions for embedded systems, is presenting its new, superior PowerDebug E50 essential-line debug tool. Building on the success of the widely used PowerDebug E40, it offers several improvements that set a new industry benchmark for standard embedded debug tools.

The Lauterbach PowerDebug E50 offers developers enhanced performance to assist with simple and complex debugging tasks, and it can be expanded to record program flow and data access in real time. This can be optionally correlated with captured digital and analogue signals.

Supporting over 15,000 devices from more than 150 chip architectures, the PowerDebug E50 provides unlimited multicore debugging, enabling the simultaneous debugging of all cores in an SoC, regardless of architecture. With synchronisation of both breakpoints and runtime control, engineers have dominion over the entire system.

Improvements to the PowerDebug E50 include a debug controller that is three times faster and an option for Gigabit Ethernet to support remote access, in addition to the usual USB 3 connection. This enables engineers to securely share their target with colleagues in another country via well-established IPv4 or modern IPv6. Furthermore, the PowerDebug E50 can be powered by 12 V power supplies, which simplifies operation in cars, for example.

Engineers who start their development on emulators, simulators or virtual targets with Lauterbach’s PowerView software can reuse everything when debugging and profiling real chips with the PowerDebug E50 in later development stages. Scripts for test automation, the feature set and the user experience remain the same.

“The new PowerDebug E50 is not only our best essential-line PowerDebug ever, but also the new industry benchmark for standard embedded debug tools”, says Holger Lohn, Product Manager at Lauterbach GmbH. “It helps all developers to track down issues no matter how complex an SoC or software stack is. The only superior debug tool on the market is our PowerDebug X51, to which developers can seamlessly transition when needed."

Lauterbach’s PowerDebug E50 meets embedded developers challenges today and in the future. Sales and shipping started at January 1st, 2026. The pricing corresponds to that of its predecessor.

Find all details about the new PowerDebug E50 here: https://www.lauterbach.com/products/debugger/powerdebug-system/powerdebug-e50

Visitors of Embedded World 2026 can explore the PowerDebug E50 at the Lauterbach Booth 4-210.

Lauterbach’s TRACE32® development solutions now support NXP® Semiconductors’ recently announced S32N7 vehicle super-integration processor series for the intelligent vehicle core, enabling automakers to accelerate their shift to AI-powered vehicles. TRACE32® tools support includes simultaneous debugging of the processor cores as well as non-intrusive processor trace capture.

NXP’s S32N7 super-integration processor delivers safe modular computing with hardware-enforced function isolation, enabling OEMs to securely run multiple vehicle core functions like motion strategy, body, gateway or data management. It consolidates up to eight legacy domains onto a single platform and includes a range of compatible System-on-Chips (SoC), allowing OEMs to efficiently scale the performance and features of their vehicles. Its comprehensive edge capabilities enable data collection, real-time processing, and orchestration to drive faster, data-driven decisions.

Lauterbach’s TRACE32® supports the entire Product Life Cycle (PLC) from Pre-Silicon to Prototyping & Testing to In-Field analysis including cloud-based debugging and profiling. It provides the broadest support for emulators, simulators and virtual targets in the industry as well as hardware-accelerated debugging and real-time tracing of all the heterogeneous Arm® and RISC-V cores implemented in NXP’s S32N7 SoC via parallel off-chip trace and trace via PICe Gen.4×4.

TRACE32® solutions consist of the universal PowerView debugging and tracing software as well as debug and trace accelerator modules. While Lauterbach’s intelligent PowerDebug modules provide highest download speeds and smallest response times for efficient debugging and test automation, PowerTrace real-time trace modules provide full insights of what the CPUs and other cores are doing without impacting its real-time performance in any way. Trace analysis including code coverage measurements can support bringing automotive designs to market faster, safer, and more reliably than ever.

TRACE32® enables simultaneous debugging and tracing of the Arm® and RISC-V cores in the S32N7; a unique capability to cover the whole system.

“NXP’s S32N7 super-integration processor series for AI-powered vehicle architectures provides excellent computing performance as well as interfacing and functional safety features”, says Dr. Markus Herdin, Head of Marketing at Lauterbach GmbH. “With the latest support of TRACE32®, we enable S32N7 customers to develop their applications with our market leading debug and trace solutions right from the start."

“The S32N7 is NXP’s most powerful high-performance computer, designed to enable the next generation of AI-powered vehicles. It consolidates diverse vehicle functions into a safe and secure scalable architecture,” said Norbert Huemmer, VP R&D at NXP Semiconductors. “The close collaboration with Lauterbach to provide TRACE32® support, allows us to empower developers with advanced multicore debugging and tracing capabilities that accelerate development, improve system reliability, and help bring innovative automotive solutions to market faster.”

Lauterbach’s TRACE32® development tools enables developers of automotive SDV architectures to evolve their applications based on NXP’s S32N7 even faster and easier.

Hoehenkirchen, Germany—December, 02, 2025 — Lauterbach’s market-leading TRACE32 solutions now also support the leading-edge Arm®v9.3 C1 CPU family: the C1-Nano, C1-Pro, C1-Premium and C1-Ultra. TRACE32 support includes simultaneous debugging of the CPU cores as well as non-intrusive CPU trace capture.

All four Armv9.3 C1 processors launched earlier this year and are now being deployed in next generation systems. From Nano to Ultra, feature the groundbreaking Scalable Matrix Extension 2 (SME2), which accelerates matrix-orientated compute workloads directly on device. Through SME2, the Arm C1 CPU cluster delivers up to 3x improved efficiency and 5x AI speed-up compared to the previous generation CPU cluster.

Lauterbach’s TRACE32® supports the entire Product Life Cycle (PLC) from Pre-Silicon to Prototyping & Testing to In-Field analysis including cloud-based debugging and profiling. It provides the broadest support for emulators, simulators and virtual targets in the industry as well as hardware-accelerated debugging and real-time tracing of all Arm cores.

TRACE32® solutions consist of the universal PowerView debugging and tracing software as well as debug and trace accelerator modules. While Lauterbach’s intelligent PowerDebug modules provide highest download speeds and smallest response times for efficient debugging and test automation, PowerTrace real-time trace modules provide full insights into what the CPUs and other cores of an Armv9.3 system are doing without impacting its real-time performance in any way. Trace analysis including code coverage measurements can support bringing designs to market faster, safer, and more reliably than ever across robotics, automotive, cloud, and edge applications.

TRACE32® enables simultaneous debugging and tracing of the Arm and other cores in a SoC; a unique capability to cover the whole system. It does not matter whether the system is SMP (Symmetric Multiprocessing), AMP (Asymmetric Multiprocessing), or iAMP (Integrated Asymmetrical Multiprocessing). Lauterbach’s innovative iAMP debug and trace technology enables developers to debug multicore systems with identical CPU instruction sets in just one TRACE32® PowerView GUI.

“The newest Armv9.3 C1 CPUs deliver impressive advances in computing performance and energy efficiency”, says Alexandre Schaefer, Director of Sales at Lauterbach GmbH. “As the Arm platform continues to define the edge AI computing landscape, our longstanding partnership makes it imperative we evolve TRACE32 to give developers the most advanced tools to build and optimize on Arm. "

“As our partners develop increasingly complex SoCs for future edge AI applications, debug and trace visibility is essential,” said Stefan Rosinger, senior director, CPU product management, Edge AI Business Unit, Arm. “By extending TRACE32 support to our new Arm C1 CPUs, Lauterbach is helping developers to unlock the full performance potential of the Armv9.3 architecture from day one, accelerating time to market and ensuring reliability across the entire product lifecycle.”

Lauterbach’s TRACE32® enables developers to provide innovations even faster and easier.
